Complete Streets are something the planning and civil engineering communities are increasingly embracing as effective means to reshape public infrastructure so that our streets and roads are not only built for cars, but for public transit, pedestrians and cyclists. Here in Philadelphia this embrace has been welcomed by policy leaders and in the past year the city adopted a Complete Streets policy taking guidance from national organizations that influence infrastructure design like the USDOT and NACTO, mentioned in a recent letter we posted.
